The Boricua Block Party is coming to Berea—and this is only the beginning.
Over the past three weeks, our team has been working on several parts of this project at the same time, and the response has been incredible. Since launching the Cleveland Boricua Block Party, we have heard from so many people who are excited, interested, and ready to support this celebration.
While we continue working through the planning and requirements for Cleveland, we are also building for the future.
Meeting With the City of Berea
Recently, our team met with Berea Mayor Cyril Kleem and city representatives to discuss a collaboration with the City of Berea and explore how the Boricua Block Party experience can become part of a city event.
Our conversation focused on the guest experience, community participation, possible locations, event flow, and the responsible planning needed to create something welcoming and well organized.
Why Berea Fits the Vision
A Welcoming Community Setting
Berea, Ohio, offers a strong community atmosphere, walkable gathering spaces, and a setting where families and neighbors can experience Puerto Rican culture together. Touring Coe Lake Park and downtown Berea helped our team imagine how the celebration could connect naturally with the city.
A Meaningful City Partnership
This collaboration is an opportunity to bring Cleveland, Berea, and Puerto Rican communities across Northeast Ohio together through music, movement, food, entrepreneurship, and shared experience.
Culture at the Center
The goal is to share the energy of the Boricua Block Party while protecting what makes it special: Puerto Rican music and dance, food, family, local entrepreneurship, and pride.

What Happens Next
Our team will continue coordinating with Berea representatives while programming, participation opportunities, operations, and guest information take shape.
